The European Hunt is an exceptional and organized hunt for a group of 20-30 people that releases a large quantity of pheasant…200-300ph. The pheasant are released from a tower in the center of the woods with shooting blinds located outside the woods to safely shoot from as the birds come out. The pheasant will be flying high, and up to 40mph. They are given a sporting chance and generally 30-40% are harvested from the tower with good wind conditions.

Following the tower release, the participants group up with guides and spread out across the farm to field hunt the ones that got away. If the wind conditions are strong and prevailing in a set direction for the tower release, we will hold back a percentage of the birds to release in the fields for a fair and successful field hunt. The group leader will make that call with our advisement.

Uniquely, there is NO BAG LIMIT on the field hunt! While we may release a lot of birds for the hunt, we have a residual population you could get into. It is possible you could harvest more than is released at no extra charge!

This is an all-inclusive event with the birds being packaged and ready for the freezer. The harvested birds are divided equally among the participants regardless of the individual harvest.

Guides are independent and are to be tipped directly. Please respect that if you bring your own dog, a guide must be in your group. For open/public towershoots, you will not be in your own private field with your dog if you have less than 5 people in your group. You will still have a guide with you if you have enough people to be allotted a field. There are a lot of birds and groups across the Farm, and safety is our number one priority. Most guides are amendable to running dogs together or just going along with yours to facilitate you getting into the good spots. You may want to consider a separate private hunt excursion if you can’t abide by our European hunt rules. No exceptions.

Schedule of the Day:
12:30pm Arrival, registration, lunch (At the Big Barn)
12:45pm Safety briefing
1:00pm Tower release
2:15pm(ish) Gather for photo and field hunt (timing depends on how many birds released)
4:30pm Field hunt ends

Enjoy desserts and coffee at the Big Barn with the guides while the last of the birds are cleaned.

Scheduled European hunts will happen regardless of weather conditions. Should it be too dangerous for our staff to ascend the Tower, we will proceed with a field hunt. The price will remain the same even though a standard field hunt with a 10ph release per man would cost around $400ea. Either way, it’s the best deal on the farm and bang for your buck!

Should you not attend, you must find a substitute as this is a prepaid, non-refundable confirmed hunt. Folks register for this event expecting full participation. We cannot refund. If you aren’t here, your birds will fly. No exceptions.

Hunter orange is required. NO 3” or steel shot is allowed—anyone doing so will be pulled from the event as it’s a safety issue-No refund. Gameloads 2-3⁄4 shells of 6 to 7.5 shot is sufficient. Each person will need 4-6 boxes of shells.
